Current Thoughts

A lot has happened over the last few months. The conservative party, through their membership, made a very poor decision in electing Liz Truss as Leader of the party, and hence Prime Minister. Her dictotorial style did not go down well and the country and financial markets reacted. As such she resigned, without remorse in my view, and Rishi Sunak took over. He had predicted the outcome in the hustings. He now has to prove his worth. He has made one or two poor decisions regarding the Home Secretary. But, I feel he will come out of it OK. we shall see. It is early days.

Of course the opposition are picking up on every possibility and demanding an election.

Ukraine are getting the better of Russia and Putin is on the back foot. But he doesn’t play cricket so the next few weeks are going to be interesting. I hope, and feel, the Ukrainians will be the better side for the issues winter will bring. Already, I understand, Russia is becoming defensive with conscript troops and hence are vulnerable.

Me? I am carrying on! Jennifer hurt her hip and is hobbling about. I don’t think the Parkinson’s is helping. She is walking better and nothing is broken, just tissue damage so hopefully she will get back to not using the stick.
I must get more involved with photography. I am reading detective novels a lot but that is a very sedentary exercise. My ears have been pulsing for several years now and no-one can tell me what it is. I don’t think it is a pulsatile tinnitus on top of the tinnitus I have. I am used to it now so just get on with it, like the sounds in my head from the tinnitus! I am due back with the GP in a week or so. See what transpires. Not much hope of anything positive.

Saltburn Photographic Soc. are meeting again and some good sessions giving advice on what to do. Alex had some photos and videos of Roe Deer in the park, taken early in the morning. It would be good to get some wildlife shots locally. Perhaps I should wander out early in the morning to the woods?

Tai Chi practice is back again on Thursday evenings with Mike Pratt. That always puts me in a good frame of mind. Also Qi Gung on Thursday morning, with the Mindful Group, and now Tai Chi with GU3A on Tuesday afternoon.. In addition to swimming, Wednesday morning, I keep to a mindful set of exercises. I should do more by myself. Perhaps that is a resolution. Mindful walking first thing in the morning?
