If it were not for empty space
A window would not be so useful,
A door would not open,
A vase would not hold flowers,
A cup could not be half full or half empty,
A tree would have nowhere to grow,
A view could not be seen,
We wouldn’t be able to step forward, or backward, or sideways.
We would have nowhere to run or to play.
Be thankful for all that emptiness does for us and all living things.
Enjoy emptiness and revel in it.
If it were not for emptiness we and everything would have nowhere to be.
