Cow Parsnip, or Hogweed, is a common wild flower found on the side of country lanes and in woodland. It may be foraged and its culinary uses can be found at WildfoodUk.com.
Chervil, or Cow Parsley, is a similar plant, but with more delicate stems and leaves.

These are part of a family of plants that include Giant Hogweed, that can cause skin irritation, and Hemlock, which has definite purple markings on the stem. Hemlock is poisonous.
